Trendy new apartments in Sea Point selling from R2.45m

The demand for property in Sea Point is now such that it is easily the best-selling suburb of theAtlantic Seaboard, and with apartments being snapped up almost as fast as they are being listed, agents are struggling to keep up with the demand.

Mauerberger and Sher say set majestically on the slopes of Lion’s Head in a quiet cul-de-sac, 50 Upper Rhine Road is an iconic development for Sea Point.

This is according to Adrian Mauerberger and Cecily Sher from Seeff. They say this year there has already been about 187 apartments sold in the suburb to the combined value of almost R600 million.

Everybody wants to live or invest in this area now, and with almost a flat a day selling here, there is a notable shortage of apartments, paving the way for new development in the suburb, they say.

Mauerberger and Sher say the launch of 50 Upper Rhine Road, an exclusive new apartment complex, is therefore a most welcome addition.

The exclusive development offers nine apartments comprising of a mix of one and two bedroom units ranging in size from 55sqm to 129sqm, and selling from R2.45 million to R6.7 million.

There is also a two bedroom unit with an additional 126sqm deck priced at R9.5 million, and just one duplex penthouse with three bedrooms, a balcony and 205sqm deck with a jacuzzi, priced at R16.25 million.

The agents say each unit offers generous accommodation with a mix of mountain and sea views, a balcony, direct access parking and store rooms. There is also top-class 24-hour security with biometric access and an intercom system.

All units will be equipped with fibre-optic internet connectivity, DSTV and air-conditioning. All balconies will be fitted with a built-in gas braai for outdoor entertainment.

As an added bonus, they say all apartments will have an inverter system for back-up power and LED lighting for minimal power consumption.

The units are modern with finishes in a mix of earthy tones with elements such as porcelain, granite, natural stone, timber and carpeting in two colour palettes. The overall design caters for modern, simplistic luxury, say the agents.

Part of the allure of the suburb is its seaside location, fronted by a scenic palm-fringed promenade, ideal for walks and cycling. Nearby is also a unique outdoor gymnasium, and there is a public swimming pool for avid swimmers.

The suburb enjoys a central location, just minutes from the popular central city and V&AWaterfront to the one side and the Blue-Flag beaches of Camps bay and Clifton to the other side.

Also on offer are a myriad of facilities, from retail to fitness, restaurants, bars and pubs. There are about ten top schools within a five to ten minute drive, some within walking distance.

Whether you are looking for a residential, retirement, holiday or investment property, the agents say you can't go wrong with Sea Point. Its location on the prime Atlantic Seaboard strip makes it a winner for capital growth and, of course, resale.

It is also a suburb that ranks amongst the most sought after for rental accommodation, both for short-term lets and long-term residential property, say the agents.

The development launched on 5 October and is being sold off plan.
